Office in a Closet

Something simple to think about: if you are living in a tight space that lacks an extra room for your office (hello that one bedroom apartment!), there can be a solution!
Depending on your storage situation, something that I think is very clever is turning your closet into your home office.
Clean out your closet completely, leaving it bare to make your office come alive.

You can measure it, and find a desk that would fit in perfectly like a wall unit.
Depending on what type of doors you have, you may have to take them off. In that case, adding a curtain is a nice touch keeping it soft and intimate, and easy to move when needed.

Just because you may not have a spare room for an office, doesn’t mean you have to go without one. This is just one idea about how you have make one space into two!

  1. wow, i love the idea of turning the closet into a little office space. My sister is living in a small apartment in philly. I told her this idea and she totally went for it. Now she has extra room to move around and she is more organize.

  2. I think this is a great idea. Especially for those who aspire to live in a super expensive and glamorous life in a city. Girls our age dream of living a life like the ladies in Sex and the City, and to be honest, it’s unrealistic. So to make ends meet, I totally think it is a fantastic idea to take your small spaces and make them seem as big as possible. My cousins girlfriend lives in a one bedroom apartment in South Boston, which once was where the poor white Irish lived and were able to make ends meet, and now is a very expensive place to live. She actually did this. Although the apartment is small, she was blessed with every girls dream of lots and lots of closets. So she made one into her office and now her 1 bedroom, is easily mistaken for a two. It’s all about working with what you’ve got and making the best of it.
